Prayer
"I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech." PSALM 17:6
Praying is essential for your life of faith.
Just like breathing is important to the human body, prayer makes the spirit live.
Without it, faith dies. With it, we will grow in spirit and life.

Prayer is simply talking with God; it is the heart of a vital, personal relationship with God! There is no secret to it, just talk to our Heavenly Father like you would talk to your best friend. After all, He IS!!
Before you can pray, you must know God. If you are reading this and don't have a personal relationship with our Lord, click here. If you do believe God in everything He has told us through scripture and want to enrich your prayer life, read on.
"Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:4
When we come into his presence we should humble ourselves and begin worshipping Him. Personally, I grasp my bible, fall to my knees and begin praising my awesome God! There have been times when that is all I do during my prayer with Him. He is THE LIGHT, LOVE, PERMANENCE, HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, MIGHTY, GOOD, KIND, GENTLE, POWERFUL, PURE, and LORD!!! HIS WAYS ARE EXACT! HIS WORD IS EVERLASTING! HIS WILL IS UNCHANGING! HE IS GOD!!!
"I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works." Psalm 9:1
He is EVERYTHING for EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE, EVERY TIME, in EVERY WAY! HE IS FAITHFUL!!! YES!!!
He is the FIRST and LAST - the BEGINNING and the END!! YES!!!
He ALWAYS was, He ALWAYS is, and He ALWAYS will be!! YES!!!
UNMOVED! UNCHANGED! UNDEFEATED!! YES!!!
I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Psalm 104:33
One of my favorite scriptures to read while praying is Psalms 104. It is so awesome to think about Him riding the chariot of clouds! Imagine those waters waiting above the mountains until He commanded them to flee to their resting places! Imagine the waters flowing down the mountain sides making the streams and the rivers, the lakes and oceans! How awesome our God is! God's Love WILL endure forever!
"Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins." Psalm 25:18
One of the frustrating parts of my life is how human I am. Through prayer I work hard with God to build up walls against sin. But, I do fall more than I want to. When there is sin in my life, I talk to God about it and apologize for making mistakes. As a Christian, I know that my sins are totally forgiven. Yet, it hurts me deeply when I fall into sin. It hurts me because I know that I have hurt Him. God created me, and you, to enjoy all that He has given us. He is so Good, so Pure, so Perfect... I just want to please Him, not hurt Him.
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;" Colossians 4:2
God has given us all so much! He takes such good care of us! It is important to spend a large part of your prayer time thanking God. I remember as I was growing up, my mom would insist that I always send thank you notes to others when they did something special for me. Since God does special things for me and you everyday, each prayer should include our gratitude towards Him! I thank God for placing me with dedicated, Christian parents. I thank God for taking care of my family. I thank God for letting me serve Him and see others look up to Him for the first time in their lives. I thank God for curing my cancer. I thank God for leading me to an awesome Church. I thank God for surrounding me with other Christians to fellowship with. I thank God for putting people in my life that have strengthened my walk with Him. I thank God for the white sands of the beaches. I thank God for the pink sunsets. I thank God for those fluffy clouds that float by on windy days. I thank God for that awesome blue in the sky. I thank God for the sweet smell of roses. I thank God for the heat of the sun. I thank God for the sparkle of the stars. I thank God for my children. I thank God for keeping my sister, Christine, on earth long enough for me to get to know her. I thank God for those gorgeous rainbows. I thank God for the comfort I feel when I talk to Him. I thank God for giving me life. I thank Jesus for dying for my sins. YES!!! You know, it IS all about Jesus!! THANK YOU FATHER FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE AND WILL DO!
HALLELUJAH!!!
GOD IS SO HOLY!!!!
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16
There are some that always go straight to asking God for help. They never repent or give praise and thanks to God. We all have things in our lives that we need Gods help with, but before we ask for this help, we must repent of any sins that are on our souls. God will not listen to our requests if we have not HONESTLY asked for His forgiveness of our sins. When we make requests, we should remember that our ideal outcome may not be the one that God knows is best for us. We must totally trust Him to take perfect care of us. Why? Because if we TOTALLY trust Him, He will answer our prayers with a Love that extends beyond anything we could imagine. This Love will do exactly what is best for each of us. Praise God!
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:22
Prayer is such a special time with God. We should give Him all the time we can and do our best to share our lives with Him every day. He loves us so very much. I just wish that I knew how to love Him like He loves me!
"Pray without ceasing." I Thessalonians 5:17
