Cancer With
God
"...I had cancer. It was bad. Stage 4, and I was going to die
soon...the doctors told me that."
My
name is Terri L Scruggs and I have written a book called CANCER WITH
GOD. In 2003, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Through a
miracle, God kept me intact and living. He led me to write CANCER
WITH GOD soon thereafter. This book gives God the Glory for what He
has done while giving people the hope and trust they need to deal
with any terminal disease. Please read the Press Release below if

When Cancer Becomes Friend Instead of Enemy
Terri Scruggs would be the first to tell you that cancer has been
both her friend and enemy. Like many battles fought by Christians,
the thing that devastates us the most physically often ends up being
the thing that brings us closer to God. And so it was with cancer in
Terri’s life.
Terri was only eighteen when her sister died of cancer and it left a
huge scar on her life. Therefore, when she discovered she had
cancer, fear set it. However, this fear turned her toward the Lord
and she began to cry out to Him. She came to the realization one day
that she had never really given God all of her life. She told God,
“I’ve spent my life setting silly goals that meant nothing in Your
sight. I’ve been serving myself instead of You.”
Her biggest break-through came in totally trusting God with whatever
His decision was about her life. With Stage 4 cancer, if she
survived (she was given only a 5% chance) it would be through God's
help throughout the Radiation therapy, Chemotherapy and intense
surgery. The therapy shrunk the tumor, but surgery was needed. She
asked God for a miracle but trusted that if he chose not to heal her
that he would give her the strength to accept the aftermath of the
surgery. When the doctors went in to remove the tumor, it had
completely disappeared. Even they admitted it was a miracle.
After her miraculous healing, God used Terri to bring a message of
hope to cancer patients she visited at the hospital. God also led
her on a mission trip where she shared her experiences with a group
of women in Hungary. A Hungarian woman, with cancer, accepted Jesus
in her life during this meeting.
In 2005, God led Terri to write a book reliving her cancer and the
aftermath of the miracle. Published in October 2005, CANCER WITH GOD
is filled with inspirational writings that portray the deepest
struggles a person can have when facing death…and, of course, praise
for being healed. This book includes writings from Terri's husband
and children, expressing their feelings through the ordeal. They are
included to help family members understand the struggles each person
goes through and their various ways of responding to cancer.
Terri recently received her Bachelor of Science degree in Religion
from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing her Masters of
Divinity at Liberty Theological Seminary in obedient preparation for
her call to be a Missionary-Evangelist. She hopes her book CANCER
WITH GOD will help people understand that what appears to be their
worst enemy may be the very thing that brings them into a deeper
relationship with Jesus. God uses all things for his glory. CANCER
