The Blackwelder Family has been in the wood and wood crafts business in the North Carolina since arriving in eastern Mecklenberg County in 1742. Our company was first incorporated in 1936 by Norris M. Blackwelder, our founder (1900-1993) and his father, Neal F. Blackwelder (1865-1948).
Still a family company, Blackwelders entered the new century blessed with a skilled staff of home furnishings professionals, a successful, respected corporate structure and abundant resources to assist you. The first internationally marketed sofas, chairs and sleep sofas for in-home assembly were designed and produced by Blackwelders in our Thomasville, N.C factory and shown at Expositions in High Point, Cologne, Tokyo, Milan, and London. Blackwelders wants your complete satisfaction. At the time of delivery, you will be given adequate time to completely inspect your furniture. If damage or defects are found (while the delivery company is still in your home), advise your delivery professional at the time of delivery and if he cannot satisfactory correct the problem, you may request the item to be returned for prompt repair or replacement and returned to you at no charge, no paperwork, and no hassle (with the exception of International purchases). If after your delivery professionals have left, you find any problems please contact your customer service representative for further instructions. Blackwelder's honors all manufacturer warranties for you. Warranties are only for one year after purchase unless otherwise stated. Your goods are insured from factory to installation in your home with our recommended Home Delivery Company.
